Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Chronavault collects, uses, and protects personal information submitted through our website and through the workshop's intake process. We handle a small volume of personal data — primarily contact details provided when making an enquiry or dropping off a piece for service.

1. What Data We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to respond to your enquiry or to manage your watch service. This includes:

  • Name and contact details — provided when you submit the contact form or visit the workshop in person (name, email address, phone number where given).
  • Service-related information — watch make, model, serial number, and condition details collected at intake for the purpose of carrying out the requested work.
  • Website usage data — standard analytics data such as pages visited and time on site, collected via cookies where you have consented. This data does not identify you personally.
  • Communications — messages exchanged by email or through the website contact form are retained as part of the service record.

Legal basis (PDPA Thailand)

Under Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (PDPA), we process personal data on the basis of (a) your consent when submitting the contact form, (b) contract performance when carrying out a service you have requested, and (c) legitimate interests in maintaining service records.

2. How We Use Your Data

Personal data collected is used solely for the following purposes:

  • Responding to your enquiry by email or telephone
  • Managing the intake, service, and return of your timepiece
  • Maintaining a service record for the watch (condition notes, parts used, timing results)
  • Communicating about the progress or timeline of your service
  • Improving the functionality of this website (analytics, if consented)

We do not use personal data for marketing communications without your explicit consent. We do not sell or rent personal data to any third party.

3. Data Sharing

We share personal data with third parties only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Parts suppliers — where your service requires ordering components, the watch make and model (but not your personal details) may be shared with a supplier. Your name and contact details are not disclosed.
  • Analytics providers — if you have accepted analytics cookies, aggregated, anonymised usage data may be processed by a third-party analytics tool. This data does not identify you.
  • Legal obligations — if required by Thai law or a lawful authority, we may be obliged to disclose personal data. We will inform you where legally permitted to do so.

No personal data is transferred outside Thailand unless you have explicitly requested correspondence through an internationally-hosted platform (e.g. email).

4. How Long We Retain Data

Data Type Retention Period
Contact form submissions2 years from date of submission
Service records (intake, parts, timing)7 years (workshop records for provenance)
Email correspondence3 years from last contact
Analytics data (if consented)26 months (standard analytics cycle)

Service records are retained for longer than general contact data because they form part of the watch's provenance documentation — a benefit to owners who may later wish to resell or further service the piece.

5. How We Protect Your Data

  • Website contact form data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption)
  • Physical service records are held in locked storage at the workshop premises
  • Digital records are stored on password-protected systems with restricted access
  • Access to personal data is limited to workshop staff who need it to complete service work
  • In the event of a data breach that may affect your rights, we will notify you within 72 hours of becoming aware of it

6. Cookies

This website uses cookies to remember your preferences and, where consented, to collect anonymous usage data. Essential cookies are necessary for the site to function and are always active. Analytics and preference cookies are used only with your consent.

For full details on the cookies used and how to manage them, please see our Cookie Policy.

7. Your Rights

Under Thailand's PDPA, you have the following rights in relation to personal data we hold about you:

Right to Access

Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

Right to Rectification

Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.

Right to Erasure

9. Children's Privacy
