Last Updated: 15 June 2025  ·  Effective: 15 June 2025

1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the following terms have the meanings set out below:

  • Chronavault / We / Us / Our — refers to Chronavault, a watchmaking workshop registered and operating at 142 Sukhumvit Soi 24, Khlong Tan, Khlong Toei, Bangkok 10110, Thailand.
  • Client / You / Your — the individual or entity submitting an enquiry, depositing a timepiece, or using this website.
  • Service — any watchmaking work carried out by Chronavault, including movement servicing, case and dial restoration, and vintage or complication overhaul, as described on this website.
  • Piece / Timepiece — any watch or clock entrusted to Chronavault for service.
  • Agreement — the contract formed when a client accepts the condition note and cost estimate provided by Chronavault following intake inspection.
  • Website — the Chronavault website accessible at https://chronavault.world.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By depositing a timepiece for service, submitting the online contact form, or using this website, you confirm that:

  • You are aged 20 or over (the age of majority in Thailand), or are acting on behalf of an organisation with authority to do so.
  • You have read and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
  • You are the lawful owner of, or have authority to arrange service on, any timepiece deposited with us.

If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services or website.

3. Services

Chronavault provides the following categories of watchmaking service, as described on our Solutions page:

  • Full Movement Servicing — complete mechanical overhaul and timing regulation
  • Case & Dial Restoration — external refinishing, crystal replacement, and cleaning
  • Vintage & Complication Overhaul — extended work on complex and heritage calibres

Services are available to clients in Thailand and, where prior arrangement has been made, to clients sending pieces from outside Thailand by registered post. Chronavault reserves the right to decline any piece it does not consider within the scope of its current capabilities, at its discretion, with reasons given.

4. Service Delivery & Scope

The following terms apply to all service engagements:

  • Intake inspection: every piece is examined at intake and a written condition note is prepared. Work begins only after the client has acknowledged the condition note.
  • Parts and scope changes: if additional parts or work beyond the original scope are required, Chronavault will contact the client before proceeding. No additional cost will be incurred without prior client agreement.
  • Turnaround: estimated timelines are provided at intake and are approximate. Delays caused by parts availability, postal transit, or unforeseen complexity do not constitute a breach of contract.
  • Collection: clients are notified when a piece is ready. Pieces not collected within 90 days of notification may be subject to storage charges at our discretion.
  • Abandonment: pieces not collected within 12 months of the completion notification, and where the client cannot be contacted after reasonable attempts, may be treated as abandoned property under Thai law.

5. Payment Terms

  • Service fees are quoted in Thai Baht (฿) and are payable in full upon collection of the piece, unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing.
  • Accepted payment methods include cash (THB), bank transfer, and major credit/debit cards. Payment by cheque is not accepted.
  • Base service rates are as listed on the Solutions page. These exclude parts, which are quoted and agreed separately before ordering.
  • A receipt will be issued for all payments. Service records are retained by Chronavault for a period of seven years.

Refund policy

If a client is dissatisfied with work carried out, we ask that the concern is raised directly with us within 14 days of collection. We will examine the piece and, where a fault attributable to our workmanship is identified, will rectify it at no additional charge. Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis. We do not offer refunds for outcomes that represent the normal limitations of a piece's age or condition.

6. Client Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate information about the piece, including known history, prior repairs, and any relevant documentation.
  • Ensure that the piece deposited is your property or that you have authority to authorise service on it.
  • Respond to communications from Chronavault within a reasonable time, particularly where approval is required before work continues.
  • Collect the piece within the agreed timeframe after notification of completion.
  • Use this website for lawful purposes only and not attempt to interfere with its operation.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, images, layout, and design — is the property of Chronavault or its content suppliers and is protected under Thai copyright law. You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial reference only.

You may not reproduce, republish, copy, or redistribute any content from this website for commercial purposes without our prior written consent. Chronavault's name, logo, and workshop identity are not available for use by third parties without permission.

8. Disclaimers

Chronavault carries out watchmaking work to a professional standard using appropriate tools and techniques. However, the following limitations apply:

  • No specific timekeeping performance is stated as an outcome of service. Results depend on the condition of the movement, the age of the piece, and the availability of appropriate parts.
  • Vintage and heritage pieces may have pre-existing conditions that limit the degree to which performance can be improved. These are disclosed in the intake condition note.
  • Website information is provided for general reference and may not reflect current pricing or availability. Confirm details directly with the workshop before making decisions.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by Thai law, Chronavault's liability to any client arising from or related to the provision of services is limited to the amount paid for the specific service in question.

Chronavault shall not be liable for:

  • Loss of value attributed to the normal limitations of a piece's age or prior condition
  • Indirect or consequential losses arising from any service or delay
  • Loss or damage during postal transit where the client arranged shipment independently
  • Force majeure events including natural disasters, government action, or other circumstances beyond our control

Nothing in these terms limits liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under Thai consumer protection law.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Chronavault harmless from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your breach of these Terms and Conditions, your misrepresentation of ownership or authority over a deposited piece, or your unlawful use of this website.

11. Cancellation

A client may cancel a service engagement at any point before work has commenced, in which case no charge applies. Where work has commenced and the client cancels, Chronavault reserves the right to charge for work completed to that point, including any parts ordered at the client's prior agreement.

Chronavault may decline to continue a service engagement if the piece presents risks to workshop staff, if inaccurate information was provided at intake, or if the client fails to respond to communications for an extended period. In such cases, the piece will be available for collection and a partial charge may apply for work already completed.

12. Dispute Resolution

If a dispute arises, we ask that you contact us directly in the first instance at [email protected] so that we can attempt to resolve the matter informally within 30 days.

If informal resolution is not possible, disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Thailand. These Terms and Conditions are governed by Thai law, including the Civil and Commercial Code and applicable consumer protection legislation.

Nothing in these terms affects your rights under Thai consumer protection law, including rights available through the Consumer Protection Board.

13. General Provisions

  • Entire agreement: these Terms and Conditions, together with the intake condition note and any written service agreement, constitute the entire agreement between Chronavault and the client in relation to a service engagement.
  • Severability: if any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect.
  • Waiver: failure to enforce any provision on a particular occasion does not waive Chronavault's right to enforce it on another occasion.
  • Assignment: clients may not assign rights or obligations under these terms to a third party without our written consent. Chronavault may assign its rights in connection with a business transfer.
  • Notices: formal notices may be sent to Chronavault by email at [email protected] or by post to the workshop address below.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. When material changes are made, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of our services or website after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
